01 // Project Overview

Donor and Alumni Recognition Wall Installation at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University

The Kelley School of Business aimed to modernize and personalize the way it recognizes its community of donors and alumni. The institution sought a dynamic solution that not only honors contributions but also inspires ongoing support and engagement. The envisioned Donor and Alumni Recognition Wall was to be more than a mere display; it was to be an interactive experience that tells the stories of generosity and success that have shaped the school, showcase successes of some of its alumni, and, most important, tell its long story as a school established in 1830.

02 // Challenges

Several challenges were identified and addressed during the project:

  1. Content Dynamism: Creating a system that could easily be updated with new donor and alumni information, ensuring the wall remains current and relevant.
  2. Interactivity: Developing interactive features that encourage engagement from visitors, allowing them to explore stories, achievements, and contributions in a more meaningful way.
  3. Integration: Seamlessly integrating the wall into the existing architectural and technological infrastructure of the Kelley School of Business without disrupting its aesthetic or functional flow.
  4. Usability: Ensuring the wall is userfriendly for all visitors, including those not familiar with interactive technology.
03 // Approach

Our work

Lusens approached the project with a focus on innovation, user experience, and storytelling. The final solution included the following components:

  1. Interactive Touchscreen Panels: The wall features ten 55” video wall quality displays equipped with an invisible touch-sensing frame that allows users to interact and navigate through donor and alumni profiles, stories of impact, and video testimonials. The content is rich with multimedia, including photos of donors, alumni, and staff, and interactive timelines since its inception back in 1832.
  2. Dynamic Content Management System (CMS): A custom CMS was developed to enable the school’s staff to update and manage the content easily. This flexibility ensures that the wall can be kept up to date with the latest stories of generosity and achievement.
  3. Design and Integration: The design of the wall was carefully planned to complement the aesthetic of the Kelley School. Its placement and installation were strategically executed to ensure maximum visibility and engagement without interfering with the building’s operations.
  4. Scalability and Sustainability: The project was designed with future expansion in mind, allowing for the addition of new names and stories as the community grows. The technology chosen is energy efficient, ensuring long-term sustainability.
04 // Conclusion

Outcome

The Donor and Alumni Recognition Wall at the Kelley School of Business represents a landmark achievement in the way educational institutions recognize and celebrate their supporters. Through cutting-edge technology, interactive storytelling, and thoughtful design, Lusens delivered a solution that not only meets the current needs of the Kelley School of Business but also paves the way for future engagement and inspiration.
