The goal was to create a remote physical therapy system for real-time patient movement measurement and practitioner communication, offering immediate corrective feedback and meeting the demand for remote healthcare services. The solution addresses barriers to traditional therapy, such as distance or time constraints, enabling effective home exercise with professional guidance.

Remote Physical Therapy System for 4D Health Science: A Lusens Case Study

The demand for remote, effective physical therapy solutions has significantly increased in the evolving healthcare technology landscape. Recognizing this need, North Carolinabased 4D Health Science LLC engaged Lusens in 2007 to develop an innovative remote physical therapy system named GoPhysio. This system leverages a 3D camera and advanced computer vision algorithms to accurately guide patients through prescribed exercises. Today, this  novel technology is extensively used by the Veterans Administration, the largest healthcare system in the USA, marking a significant advancement in physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.

  4. Integration with Healthcare Systems: Ensuring seamless integration with existing healthcare systems, particularly within the Veterans Administration’s vast and complex infrastructure.
