01 // Project Overview

Interactive BarTop Tables and Musical Instruments Exhibits: for Google Corporation

In 2011,  through one of its partners, Lusens embarked on a distinctive project with Google Corporation to elevate the experience of a major corporate event in Washington, DC. The task was to design and deliver six custom-designed interactive bar top tables and four touch interactive freestanding exhibits simulating cord musical instruments. This case study explores the need, the challenges, the innovative approach taken by Lusens, and the successful execution of this project.

02 // Challenges

The project presented unique challenges that required innovative solutions:

  1. Design and Customization: Crafting designs incorporating Google’s branding and seamlessly fitting into the event’s aesthetic and atmosphere.
  2. Technology Integration: Ensuring the technology was robust enough to handle continuous interaction from multiple users simultaneously, providing a seamless and responsive experience.
  3. User Experience: Creating an intuitive user interface for both the bartop tables and the musical instrument exhibits, ensuring they were accessible and enjoyable for attendees with varied levels of tech savvy.
  4. Installation and Logistics: Managing the logistics of installing sophisticated, tech-driven exhibits in a busy event setting without disrupting the event flow.

03 // Approach

Our work

Lusens’ approach to overcoming these challenges involved a combination of cutting-edge technology, creative design, and strategic planning. Key aspects of our work included:

  1. Innovative Design: Each bar top table and musical instrument exhibit was custom designed, incorporating Google’s brand elements and designed to enhance the event’s thematic coherence.
  2. Advanced Touch Technology: We utilize state-of-the-art touch technology and sensors to create responsive and reliable interactive experiences. The bartop tables feature dynamic, engaging content triggered by users’ interactions, while the musical instrument exhibits use sophisticated touch and gesture recognition to simulate playing actual cord instruments.
  3. UserCentric Experience: Emphasizing the user experience in the design to ensure that interactions were intuitive, enjoyable, and engaging for all participants, regardless of their familiarity with interactive technology.
  4. Efficient Installation: Careful planning and coordination ensured the seamless integration of the exhibits into the event space, with Lusens’ team managing setup and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance throughout the event.
