Children Hospital
Hospitals, by their very nature, can be intimidating places, particularly for children. The unfamiliar surroundings, coupled with the reason for their visit, can escalate feelings of nervousness and anxiety, not just among the pediatric patients but also their parents and guardians. The challenge lies in mitigating these feelings and transforming the hospital experience into a more positive and less daunting one. Pediatric care units, especially those specializing in longterm treatments such as oncology, require innovative solutions to address these emotional and psychological challenges.
Task
In 2020, Lusens was approached by several oncology hospitals with a unique and challenging task: to design and install a children's center equipped with interactive games that utilize touch, body motion, and gesture recognition technologies. The primary goal was to engage, entertain, and, most importantly, calm the kids during their hospital stays, while simultaneously promoting physical activity and interaction among multiple children.
